Dental Implants in Sydney CBD

Dental implants use an artificial root placed in the jawbone to support a crown, bridge or denture. An implant assessment at WOW Dental considers gums, bone, bite and general health, and compares implants with other ways to replace missing teeth.

Assess first, then choose how to replace a tooth

One or several missing teeth

Different gaps may be restored with individual crowns, bridges or other support designs. The number of missing teeth alone does not determine the number of implants.

Gum and bone health

Periodontal health and bone volume affect planning. Bone grafting, healing time and staged care can only be considered after an assessment.

Long-term cleaning

Implants still need cleaning and maintenance. Restoration design, smoking, general health and follow-up are important parts of the discussion.

Your dental implants visit

  1. Examination and planning

We review the reason for tooth loss, medical history, medicines and imaging, then discuss your oral condition and alternatives.

  2. Placement and healing

Surgery and healing follow an individual plan. Immediate restoration is not suitable for everyone and does not mean the final crown is complete.

  3. Restoration and maintenance

The restoration is made at an appropriate stage. We check the bite and plan ongoing cleaning and review.

Understand the costs first

Ask whether the estimate includes examination, imaging, the implant, connecting components, crown and reviews. Grafting, extractions or sedation may cost extra. Confirm the total against the complete treatment plan.

Frequently asked questions

Explore common questions, then discuss what is suitable for you at an individual assessment.

Can implants always be completed in one day?

No. Immediate placement or a temporary restoration requires suitable conditions, and healing and further restorative stages still follow.

Can I have implants with gum disease?

Gum health needs assessment and treatment first, followed by a discussion of suitability and long-term maintenance.

Will implants last a lifetime?

This cannot be guaranteed. Oral health, cleaning, the bite and general health can all affect them.

What are the alternatives?

Bridges, removable dentures and other arrangements can be considered according to your oral condition and personal needs.
