Porcelain & Composite Veneers in Sydney

Veneers cover the front surface of a tooth to change its shape or colour. Porcelain and composite have different properties. An assessment of tooth structure, the bite and gums comes before comparing veneers, whitening, orthodontics or other restorations.

Porcelain and composite

The making process, repair options and material properties differ. Choose around your teeth and needs rather than brightness in a photograph alone.

Preserving tooth structure

Whether and how much preparation is needed depends on original tooth position and the goal. Not every veneer can be placed without removing tooth structure.

The bite and grinding habits

Biting forces and grinding affect the plan. Discuss everyday use and possible protective measures.

Frequently asked questions

Explore common questions, then discuss what is suitable for you at an individual assessment.

Can veneers replace orthodontics?

Not always. Veneers change shape while orthodontics changes position. Significant alignment or bite concerns need a full assessment.

Do veneers always require tooth preparation?

It depends on the original tooth and design. No-preparation veneers are not suitable for everyone. Understand any irreversible steps beforehand.

Can a damaged porcelain veneer be repaired?

This depends on the position and extent of damage. Sometimes repair is possible; sometimes replacement is needed. Have the dentist assess it.

Can I clean my teeth normally afterwards?

Continue brushing, cleaning between teeth and attending checks. Avoid using teeth as tools to open or bite hard objects.
